"...SEEK FIRST HIS KINGDOM..."
Our aim is to put God first in every aspect of who we are and all we do. This passion for Him is expressed through our gathering to praise and worship Jesus, surrendering to His Spirit's guidance and desiring to only go deeper into Him. We are called to be a people who "live by the Spirit" and desire to "keep in step with the Spirit" (Gal 5:25). This freedom He died to give us is the good news we have to bring to others, especially those most in darkness.
"...WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING."
Our faith in Jesus to provide all we need to be able to exist and do all that He desires us to do, is foundational to who we are. We are totally dependant on Him. This encompasses all areas of our life as a community and ministry. Jesus continues to reveal Himself as truly worthy of our trust in His Divine Providence. We believe He also encourages us to grow in the gift of generosity and a lifestyle of simplicity which is detached from material possessions.
".. WHATEVER YOU DID FOR ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE... YOU DID FOR ME"
We were called by God to demonstrate His preferential heart of love, compassion, kindness and infinite mercy especially for those on the streets whose lives are often in profound pain. As Rev Frank once said, "without this outreach we would have no reason to exist". We desire to help those who feel most insignificant, discover that they too are treasured children of our loving Father (1 John 3:1). Friendship evangelisation is our way, while also desiring to grown in the gifts of the Spirit so as to more effectively reach broken lives with Jesus' healing power.
"THE ENTIRE LAW IS SUMMED UP IN..."LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF"
An emphasis on real, honest and truly loving relationships which impact on the heart is also foundational to who we are as we desire to reflect His love in every aspect of our lives. All of our communities must actively work at providing a safe place for fragile human hearts to heal - an oasis of love! Warm loving hospitality must be expressed to all those we connect with. Social celebrations are always treasured as opportunities to grow in our love for one another and create precious memories.
"FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, I DELIGHT IN WEAKNESSES...IN DIFFICULTIES. FOR WHEN I AM WEAK, THEN I AM STRONG."
(2 Cor 12:10)
Jesus showed us the way when He was willing to suffer out of obedience and love. Sacrifice is at the heart of real love and we recognise that this call to love and to lay down our lives will sometimes bring suffering but we embrace this, knowing that it is through the cross that we reach the everlasting joy of the resurrection. Thus we attempt to foster a culture of praise, joy and gratitude, even in the midst of difficulties and challenging circumstances, knowing that this is the way of faith and freedom. Our journey of personal healing and holiness is very intertwined in all of this.
As Rev Frank said, "We are to take very seriously Jesus' injunction to the apostles, as given in Matt 10:7-20. We are to pray often about this...".
We strongly believe that Jesus, still today, desires to impact our world through His healing power and miracles. This is a natural result of living in His Kingdom and flows from a loving intimate relationship with Him.
".. FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT A MATTER OF TALK BUT OF POWER." (1 Cor 4:20)
