We exist in response to an invitation from God...
to bring His love and power into the lives of those who are often profoundly broken and in incredible pain; those who we befriend on the streets. These include people struggling with homelessness, addiction, mental health and many other issues. Our desire is to especially (though not exclusively) reach the youth.
Our primary ministry is actually on the streets where we spend time so as to befriend those who dwell there. Our call is to become like family to those who often don't have one and then from that foundation, born out of relationship, we try to give whatever practical support we can... always hoping and praying that in the midst of our "journey" together, they themselves will come to know Jesus' reality and healing love and their true identity also as God's children. We sacrifice our lives, our time and security, willingly and joyfully desiring only to demonstrate the love and mercy of the Father. Our desire is to see the Good News of Jesus Christ and ALL that He accomplished through His death and resurrection, spread and manifested especially among those whose lives are in greatest pain and despair... whose circumstances appear to be hopeless.
Worship is at the heart of who we are as it is in that "place" of profound surrender, love and faith in God that we gradually are transformed to become empowered to become instruments of His peace and love. Our communal worship is expressed primarily through what is often referred to as "Charismatic praise and worship". Our desire is to go deeper into God's Spirit than we've ever gone before!
As a Catholic-Christian Community, we also treasure Jesus' Sacramental Presence, the Mass and find strength and healing through Eucharistic Adoration. We honor and love Mary, the mother of Jesus and recognize that God often uses her to reveal a mother's love to those who have never known it before, especially those who are most broken.
People who feel drawn to this call, come from many different faith expressions (denominations) but we all unite in our passion and love and desire to give our all to Jesus and serve those who so often feel so profoundly marginalized and unwanted.
Absolute dependence on God for everything we are and do is a core belief that we call "trust in Divine Providence". There are many ways in which this is expressed but primarily, it is a call to have a childlike trust in His provision whether that means for finances, for "labourers", for the wisdom to know how to handle situations etc.
It is through an intimate and vibrant relationship with Jesus that we are able to confidently go to our Father and make our needs known. Thus intercession is a vital part of who we are and many of those who get involved, serve through this very important ministry.
We desire to always be open to the Holy Spirit's guidance and thus "work" at maintaining a culture of faith, hope and radical love with a deep surrender that enables us to be a people who listen and respond to His guidance, giving birth to new modes and ways of sacrificing our lives in His service so as to better be able to meet the real needs of those we love and treasure from the streets.
